　　Philips in China

　　Philips put down its first roots in China in the 1920’s and formed our initial joint venture in China in 1985. From that point on we have been firmly established in China and followed its long-term commitment to China. Philips brought in leading technologies, products and service to China market and currently all five products divisions, Consumer Electronics, DAP, Lighting, Semiconductors and Medical Systems, are active in China.

　　Philips now has expanded to become one of the largest industrial investors in the country. China/HK 2004 total activity reached over EUR 6.9 billion. Philips now counts 35 joint ventures and wholly-owned enterprises, employing around 20,000 staff nationwide. Philips China was awarded, by China Foreign Invested Enterprises Association, as the only winner of “Extraordinary Contribution Award of 2002”, for recognition of its contribution in the largest turnover and exports among all FIEs in China.

　　Philips brings quality products with impressive brand imaging to China’s individual and business communities. We lead the industry in lighting, DAP, LCD monitor, medical systems, optical storage and mobile display systems throughout China.
